Functional Purpose

The Head of Finance is responsible for leading Hygeia’s financial management. This role ensures sound financial reporting, compliance, and strategic insight, while guiding the finance team and advising the CEO/Board on fiscal health for growth and profitability covering both strategic vision and operation oversight.


The function exists to provide leadership in budgeting, forecasting, governance, internal & external stakeholder management and system development — enabling data-driven decision-making, digital transformation, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Governance

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes

  • Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and risk management

  • Evolve Board reporting to enable strategic financial conversations

  • Present financial insights to the Board, CEO, and functional leaders

  • Lead in capital raise from external stakeholders from government funds, to pillar banks to external capital investors

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations and Commercial teams for finance and IT support

  • Provide leadership in feasibility studies of projects including R&D, Regulatory and internal Capital Investments

  • Assist with M&A due diligence, integration, and investment planning

  • Drive continuous improvement in finance and IT processes, procedures and controls

Internal: Board of Directors, CEO, Finance Team, IT Team, Operations, Commercial, Project Management

External: Auditors, Regulators, Banks, ERP vendors, IT service providers, Consultants


KPIs & Success Metrics example

  • <2% variance in budgeting and forecasting accuracy

  • 100% on-time delivery of monthly and quarterly reports

  • Zero major audit findings; full regulatory compliance

  • SAP enhancements delivered as planned; system uptime ≥ 95%

  • Risk management SOPs documented, implemented and reviewed annually

  • ≥ 3 significant finance or IT improvement projects delivered annually

  • Effective support to M&A, Board requests, Stakeholder management and system upgrades

Capability Requirements

  • Strong analytical and decision-support capabilities

  • Experience in cross-functional project leadership and change management

Financial Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of budgeting, reporting, compliance, and audit

  • Skilled in Board-level financial communication and insights delivery

  • Familiar with ERP systems (especially SAP) and IT architecture

  • Able to lead IT roadmap design, systems improvement, and vendor engagement

  • Effective communicator with senior stakeholders

  • Strong working relationships across Finance, IT, and Operations functions
